Dracut, MA – Arthur J. Gagnon, Jr., 79, of Dracut, died Saturday at the Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of Therese V. (Frechette) Gagnon to whom he was married for 54 years. He was the son of the late Arthur J. Gagnon, Sr. and Alice (Hanois) Gagnon.
He was a 20 year U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. In his early years, he worked for Wolverine Corp for 7 years. He then worked for BTU in Billerica for 23 years as a welder until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Lowell VFW, Walker Roger Post 662, a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans, and a lifetime member of the Retired Armed Forces Association.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son Arthur J. Gagnon III and his wife Paula of Hollis, NH; a daughter Audrey White and her husband Richard of Billerica; a sister Theresa Perrin of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a granddaughter Melissa White.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Marguerite D’Youville Parish at Ste. Therese Church in Dracut.
