Hallisey, of Brockton, January 16, 2003, John J. Hallisey, 75 years. Loving husband of the late Teresa (Carney) Hallisey, beloved father of Jayne E. Hallisey of Sandwich, Ann M. Addivinola and her husband Gary of Revere, Susan T. Tropea and her husband Robert of E. Sandwich and Joan E. Hallisey of Revere, grandfather of Danielle, Ashley and John Tropea, Brother of James M. Hallisey, ret. Chief BFD of Brockton.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting Hours Monday 3-7 pm.

Obituary Information

Mr. Hallisey died Thursday morning at his home surrounded by his daughters after a brief illness. Born in Brockton, a son of the late William J. and Mary (Egan) Hallisey, he had been a lifelong resident of the city. Graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1944. Veteran of WW II Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne in the US Army Air Corps. Retired from Bay State Gas Company after 43 years. Past president of Utility Workers Union of America Local 273. Past member of Brockton and National Democratic Committees. Member of Knights of Columbus Seville Council. He enjoyed summers in Cape Cod with his children and grandchildren for many years.

He is survived by 4 daughters Jayne E. Hallisey of Forestdale, Ann M. Addivinola of Revere, Susan T. Tropea of E. Sandwich and Joan E. Hallisey of Revere, 3 grandchildren, a brother James M. Hallisey, ret.Chief of BFD of Brockton and many nieces and nephews.

Husband of the late Teresa (Carney) Hallisey, brother of the late William P. and Harold R. Hallisey, Mary Rose Steinel and Patricia M. DesRoche.
