Giovanni DelBuono of Stoneham passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was 92 years of age.
Born in Briston, Rhode Island, Giovanni was the loving son of the late Saverio DelBuono and Donatella (Gelsomino) DelBuono. Giovanni was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Giovanni was a dedicated machinist for General Electric for many years. He was a 50 year resident of Stoneham. Giovanni was a 37 year violinist for the Reading Symphony.
Giovanni was the beloved husband of the late Albina (Saccoccio) DelBuono. He was the devoted father of Joan Douvros and her husband Stanley of Florida, Emilie DeFlumeri and her husband Richard of Wakefield, Diana Murphy and her late husband Robert of Stoneham, and the late Dolores Esposito. Giovanni was the cherished grandfather of several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Frances Driscoll of New Hampshire and Rose Medler of Ohio.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Giovanni’s life was held on Tuesday at 11:00am in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham. Interment was in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
