DiBella, Irma, age 81, passed away in Santa Fe on December 12, 2007 after living with Parkinson’s Disease for 31 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis; precious daughter, Laurie; brother, Gino; sister, Linda. She was born in Fairview, NJ on September 1, 1926 to Serafina and Louis Rossi. Both of her parents emigrated from Northern Italy in the early 1900’s. Irma received her nursing diploma from Englewood Hospital in 1947. She met Louis DiBella while caring for his mother, Katherine. Louis and Irma were married on March 29, 1948. She raised 4 children in Northern New Jersey. She shared her love of life and good cooking with her entire family. She is survived by her sons, Thomas DiBella of Oakland, NJ and Louis DiBella of Teaneck, NJ; daughter, Katherine Seluja and son-in-law, Gustavo Seluja of Santa Fe, NM; daughter-in-law, Maria Geiselhart of Oakland, NJ; sister, Edith Godman and brother-in-law John Godman of Sarasota, FL; brother, Alfred Rossi and sister-in-law Joan Rossi of CT; grandchildren: Dana Rollison, Brian Marotta, Stephen Maher, Chiara DiBella, Serafina and Camila Seluja; great grandchild, Brooke Rollison; nieces and nephews: Mary Bezzini, Sara Garofalo, Heidi and John Godman, Louis, Robert and Matthew Rossi, Jean Wergeles and Richard Bruno.
Irma, precious mother, sister, friend - you taught us to see God in Nature, look up when we’re feeling down, care for each other and how to make incredible sauce. We are holding you in a vessel of our love. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00AM Thursday at St. Anastasia RC Church, Teaneck, NJ. Friends & family may visit Wednesday 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. Memorial contribution may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
