Obituary

BEVERLY: Hildred C. (Ventola) DeGrandpre Dumas, 77, formerly of Turtle Creek, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 surrounded by her family in the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly. She was the wife of the late Roland Dumas who died in 2000.
Born in Beverly on October 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Ventola and Celia (Wilcox) Englehart. She was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School.
Hildred was employed in the family business, Hallmark Cleaners for many years before her retirement in 1983. She was an avid internet canasta player and enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Amy (Levine) DeGrandpre and a grandson Joshua DeGrandpre all of Salem, a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Myron Hood, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Cynthia (Woodbury) Ventola all of Beverly, an aunt, Betty Connolly of Beverly, her stepmother, Irene Stipe of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral services will be privately held in the Central Cemetery, Beverly at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the VNA Care Hospice, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923.
