Obituary

WEBSTER- John S. Butrym, 60, of Webster, died Thursday, December 13th, in the Parson’s Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 33 years, Barbara E. (Grenon) Butrym; a daughter, Laura J. Bembenek of Putnam, CT; two sons, Scott A. Bembenek and his wife Julie of Oxford and Raymond R. Bembenek of Webster; a brother, Carl Butrym of Cherry Valley. He also leaves nine grandchildren whom he adored and was devoted to, Peter, Eric, Tyler, Jacqueline, Jessica, Matt, Paul, Kate and Mark and several nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester, son of Zygmund and Gertrude (Andersen) Butrym. John was a steelworker at G.F. Wright Steel and Wire for 27 years, retiring in 2001. He owned and operated All Around Sounds disc jockey service and played the drums for several area country western and general business bands. John’s greatest passion was to fish.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 18th from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Peter’s Church, Church Avenue, Northbridge.
