Agnes T. (Flaherty) Monahan, 92 of Franklin died December 12 in Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Francis L. Monahan for 50 years until his death in 1998.
Born in Boston, December 13, 1914 the daughter of the late Patrick and Nellie (McCarthy) Flaherty.
Mrs. Monahan was raised and lived in East Boston and had lived in Franklin for several years.
Mrs. Monahan had been executive secretary to the President of the W.T. Grant Co. for 15 years.
She is survived by her son, Francis Monahan and his wife, Joan of Medway, her daughter, Patricia Sopiak and her husband, Joseph of New York City and her brother, John Flaherty of Virginia.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eric and Scott Monahan.
She was a sister of the late Lawrence Flaherty.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 18 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin 131 Main St., Franklin at 8:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 9:00.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 7-9 p.m.
