Methuen, Ma. – Patricia M. (Hardy) Charest, 71, passed away suddenly Tuesday December 11, 2007 at her home in Methuen. Born in Lawrence Patricia was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She went on to receive her degree in Nursing as an LPN at the Lawrence Vocational School. She was born Patricia M. Hardy daughter of the late Frederick and Grace (Campbell) Hardy.
For many years she had been employed as an LPN at the Bessie M. Burke Hospital as well as many local nursing homes. Prior to her retirement she worked at Dunkin Donuts on So. Broadway in Salem, NH.
According to her husband of 52 years Wilfred J. Charest Pat loved knitting, crocheting, camping with the family, fishing, nascar, cooking, spending time at Treasure Island, Florida with her sister and many loving friends, and adored spending time with her granddaughter Jamie on the weekends whom Patricia and Wilfred raised since she was a little girl and had a strong affection for the New England Patriots as well as spending quality time with her cats Munchkin, and Twinkles.
Besides her husband survivors include children Dennis J. Charest of Maine, Deborah J. Charest of Taunton, Ma., and William J. Charest of Methuen.
Wilfred and Patricia raised their granddaughter Jamie M. Charest of Somerville, Ma.
Survivors also include brother & sisters Frederick Hardy of Methuen, Marilyn Briggs of Treasure Island, Florida, Claire Patuto of Plaistow, NH, and her good friend since age 10 Virginia “Ginger” Murphy.
several grandchildren, many greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, William Hardy.
