Eleanor (Venditti) DiNitto, of Somerville, formerly of Medford, died Tuesday at Academy Manor Nursing Home. She was 86.
Born and raised in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Olindo and the late Giovannina (Marsella) Venditti. Eleanor worked as a stitcher for many years at Hyde Shoe in Cambridge. She also enjoyed sewing for her family and friends. She loved animals and loved to dance and travel. Eleanor was a loving wife, sister and aunt. She was a Medford resident for many years before moving to Somerville.
She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel DiNitto. She was a devoted sister to John Venditti of Burlington, the late Theresa Proulx, Purina Smith, Antoinette D’Aveta and Dora Nocella. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may participate in visiting hours, Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
