George A. “Bert” Boucher, 80 of Londonderry, NH died December 12, 2007 in Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, Manchester, NH. Bert was born in Dobbs Ferry, NY on February 25, 1927 the son of the late George E. and Elizabeth M. (Landzert) Boucher. He was raised and educated in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY and later graduated from The Ohio State University Class of 1948. He was a life member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bert served his country with the US Navy during WWII. He retired from Mergenthaler Lynotype, Brooklyn, NY after a lengthy career and went on to work as a private consultant for the next 30 years. Bert was an active communicant of St. Jude Parish Community in Londonderry. He was a 4th Degree Knight and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 6949 in Londonderry where he was a founding member. Bert was a life member of the Londonderry Rotary Club and a member of the American Legion Post #27 of Londonderry. He was also active in the planning of the Old Home Day’s celebration for the town of Londonderry for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ginny (Stoner) Boucher of Londonderry, three children, Victoria S. Morley and her husband Rich of Newington, CT, G. Christopher Boucher and his wife Joan of Brier, WA, Kathryn E. Giannelli and her husband Dave of Amityville, NY, and a sister, Betty Kelley and her husband Bill of Mashpee, MA. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Gregory, Michael, Kevin, Jennifer, Derek, Maia, Amanda and one great-grandchild, Hunter.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2007 from 2 – 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry with cremation to follow. Burial will be in the Spring in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Parish Building Fund, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053.
