Obituary

FRANKLIN - Charles E. Feyler, 74, of Franklin died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at Milford Regional Medical Center, shortly after his arrival there.

He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Gagnon) Feyler for 48 years.

Born in Boston, a son of the late Wilbur and Margaret Feyler, he was raised and educated in Boston and was a Franklin resident since 1960.

Until his retirement, Mr. Feyler worked for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority for more than 30 years. He also worked in the home building trade with the late George Iverson, who built many homes in Franklin in the 1960s and 1970s.

He was a member of the Dedham Moose Lodge, Franklin Lodge of Elks, Franklin Senior Citizens and American Association of Retired Persons and was a communicant of St. Mary Church.

His hobbies and interests included his grandchildren, neighborhood children, the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and volunteering with the Franklin Elks and delivering food baskets to the needy and homeless. He also enjoyed wintering in Sarasota, Fla., where he and his wife spent the last 15 winters.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Robert P. Gaskell of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Karen A. Kelleher of Mashpee; three brothers, Michael Feyler of Dedham, Richard Feyler of Stoughton and Robert Feyler of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Pauline Young of Wellesley, Brenda O'Brien of Hyde Park and Carol Clifford of Readville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was also the brother of the late Wilbur and Paul Feyler.

The funeral will be held with military honors Friday, Dec. 14, at 8:15 a.m., from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home (franklinfuneral.com), 33 Cottage St., with a funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, 1 Church Square, at 9 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday, Dec. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m.
