Rose F. Palermo, 86 formerly of Derry, NH died December 11, 2007 in the Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem, NH. Mrs. Palermo was born in Boston, MA on November 13, 1921 the daughter of the late Sebastian and Vita (Sabella) Lovasco. She had resided in Derry since 1966, formerly living in Boston. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry and a member of the Tabernacle Society for the church. She was active in the Marion Garrish Community Center in Derry and had also been an avid bingo player.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Palermo of Lawrence, MA, Sebastian “Sal” Palermo of Leesburg, FL, Nicholas Palermo, Jr. of Derry, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Netta DiSilva and Cede Panos, both of Port Charlotte, FL, also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas J. Palermo, Sr. in 1987.
Calling hours were held Thursday December 13, 2007 from 4 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry.
