Ludowici – Ernest Maulden, age 82, of Ludowici, died Monday, December 10, 2007, at his residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
The native and lifelong resident of Long County was retired from the National Guard Training Center on Ft. Stewart and was a member of Ludowici First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Maulden.
Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law: Anita & Jeff Edmondson of Ludowici; one son and daughter-in-law: Darrell & Melissa Maulden of Ludowici; four sisters: Opal Ryals and Audrey Dennison, both of Jesup, and Lois Bailey and Ernestine Johns both of Guyton; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. at Howard-Jones-Nobles Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the James Gordon Memorial Chapel of Howard-Jones-Nobles Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Long and Rev. Irvin Poole officiating. Burial will follow in the Baggs Cemetery in Ludowici.
Pallbearers will be: Victor Maulden, Lourie Morris, Wilton Morgan, Elton Poppell, Robbie Althouse, and Andy Bailey.
