SUTTON-Elizabeth J. Cross, 47, of 104 Dudley Road, formerly of 188 Massasoit Road, Worcester died Wednesday, January 15th in UMass-Memorial Healthcare, University Campus. She leaves a son Antonio F. Paulino, and a daughter Sonia V. Paulino both of Sutton, her mother Joan E. (Farrell) Cayer of Port St. Lucie, Florida, her brother John W. Cross of Worcester, a sister Ann Marie Cross of Worcester, her long time companion Francisco Paulino of Sutton, her step-father James R. Cayer, Sr. of Port St. Lucie, FL, 2 step-brothers James R. Cayer, Jr. and Thomas Cayer, and a step-sister Donna Williams all of Worcester and several nephews and nieces.
She was born in Kahnawake, P. Q., Canada, her father was the late Joseph W. Cross. Ms. Cross attended Quinsigamond Community College, and had been employed as a mail handler for the U.S. Post Office Distribution Center in Shrewsbury. Previously she had been a computer technician at Sprague Electric. She was active in all aspects of the post office’s social and recreational programs, and served as coordinator for many of the activities there. She also participated in the Post Office Investment Club. Ms. Cross enjoyed travel and cooking, and coached children’s sports. She will be remembered as a kind and caring person and a good friend to all.
The funeral will be Saturday, January 18th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard’s Church, 288 Lincoln Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, January 17th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
