Richard W. Dunlay
...Boston Pipefitter's Local 537; age 67
TEWKSBURY - Richard W. Dunlay, age 67, died Sunday morning, December 9, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell. He was born in Lowell, on April 27, 1940, the son of the late William J. Dunlay and Madeleine (Bernier)(Dunlay) Amodio. He was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Keith Academy's Class of 1957. He later attended East Coast Aero Technical School in Bedford. He later served in the Army Reserves as an Infantry Medical Corpsman. He was employed for over 30 years as a pipefitter and was a member of Boston Pipefitter's Local 537, working on numerous major construction projects in the greater Boston area during his career. He is survived by his former wife, Judith M. (Clancy) Dunlay of Chelmsford; three sons, Richard W. Dunlay Jr. of No. Billerica, Michael J. Dunlay and Kathryn Tito of Dunstable, and Robert N. Dunlay and his wife Lauren (Grieb) of Burlington; his beloved grandson, Samuel R. Dunlay; a sister, Barbara Hunter and her husband Robert of Lowell; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends throughout the Boston area. He was the proud owner of two retired racing greyhounds; GiGi and Diamond.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 10:00 a.m. in St. William's Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte 38) Tewksbury. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials to the charity of donor's choice are encouraged.
