Maria E. (Coelho) Silviera, 98, died Saturday at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Jose R. Silveira. Born in Flores, Azores, Portugal, she was raised and educated there. She moved to the US and settled in Stoughton in 1965. Mrs. Silviera worked at Corcoran Shoe in Stoughton for several years. Many years ago, she moved back to Flores with her husband. Then about 13 years ago, after her husband’s death, she returned to Stoughton and lived with her niece, Maria Fraga and her family in Stoughton.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including her niece Maria Fraga and her husband Eugenio and their family of Stoughton. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, December 11 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 5-8 PM. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
