Obituary

Lawrence, Ma. – Fred D. Barker, 79, died Thursday December 6, 2007 at Mary Immaculate Health Care Service.
Born in Wilton, NH, son of Herman and Mary Barker, Fred had been a Methuen resident for many years.
He was a Mill Worker employed at Malden Mills, for several years and also worked with the Pepsi-Cola Plant.

During the Korean War, Fred served his country in the United States Army.
Before being honorably discharged at wars end he received the National Defense Service Medal.

After his retirement he was a Security Guard at Rockingham Race Track, and was a member of the Arlington Athletic & Social Club of Lawrence.

Mr. Barker was the widower of Margaret (McCarthy) Barker and is survived by his sister Claire Martin of Lawrence, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Fred was predeceased by his sister Margaret Houlihan, and brothers Raymond, George, and Walter Barker.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:30 from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am-10:15 am.
