Obituary

Westport - Oscar A. Fontaine, 85, of Westport passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at home. He was the husband of Cecile L. (Hebert) Fontaine.

Born in Fall River, son of the late Arthur W. and Blanche A. (Hebert) Fontaine, he had lived in Westport for the past 52 years. A graduate of the former Prevost School in Fall River, he was the founder of Fall River Tool & Die Company, Inc. Mr. Fontaine was a member of the Seaplane Pilots Association, the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association and was also a past member of the Fall River Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Board of Directors of Diman Regional Vocational High School. An avid hunter, boater and fisherman, he was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Fall River Rod & Gun Club.

Including his wife, he is survived by 5 sons: Ronald A. Fontaine of Swansea, Donald O. Fontaine of Westport, George W. Fontaine of Fall River, David R. Fontaine of Swansea and Joseph Fontaine of Swansea; a daughter: Claudette Fontaine of Westport; a brother: Paul Fontaine of Westport; 2 sisters: Irene Fontaine of Swansea and Blanche Dugal of Fall River; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Normand E. Fontaine and brother of the late Louis A. Fontaine.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, December 10, 2007 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Notre Dame Church, Fall River at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours will be Sunday 2 - 5 P.M.

Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
