Obituary

WORCESTER-Joseph J. Loconto, 95, of Worcester died Wednesday, December 5th in his home. His wife, Bernice M. (Miner) Loconto died in 1985. He leaves 2 sisters, Dorothy A. Loconto of Hyannis and Theresa Christedes of Shrewsbury; and several nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Anthony and Paul Loconto and 3 sisters, Congetta Palmerino, Carmela Turo and Angelina Buccico predeceased him.

He was born in Charlton, the son of Angelo and Assunta (Dieso) Loconto. Mr. Loconto was a graduate of Worcester Boys’ Trade and had been employed by Midstate International Trucks for over 50 years. He was a decorated WWII U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Loconto was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church, VFW South Works Post 3657, Vernon Hill American Legion Post 435 and the Disabled American Veterans.

The funeral is Monday, December 10th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Road. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 until 9:30 the morning of the funeral in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
