Obituary

DANVERS- Clarence J. Stramski, 82, husband of Vera Jean (Humphrey) Stramski, of Danvers, died Monday evening, January 13, 2003, in the Salem Hospital, Salem, following a long illness.

Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late Telesfor and Catherine (Ciesinska) Stramski.

An Army Air Force veteran of WWII , he held the rank of Staff Sergeant, served in the Pacific Theater with the 1562nd Army Air Force Base Unit and was stationed in New Guinea, Southern Philippines and Luzon.

Prior to his retirement in the early 1980's, he was employed for over 25 years at GTE Sylvania, as a maintenance supervisor, at the Boston Street and Loring Avenue plants in Salem. He was a member of the GTE Sylvania Quarter Century Club.

A lifelong resident of Danvers, Mr. Stramski enjoyed cooking and gardening. He loved to fix mechanical things from motor vehicles to appliances, with a special love for repairing clocks.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage, he is survived by two step-daughters, Sally Cunningham of Prides Crossing, Susan Harrington of Danvers, and several nieces and nephews. The last of 6 siblings, he was the brother of the late Dr. Alphonse Stramski, Adolph Stram, Clara Calverly, Amelia Hughes and Isabelle Kowalski.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2003 at 11am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be Thursday morning, 10 to 11 am, prior to the funeral service.
