Emanuel Reale, 90, died Monday evening in the Chetwynoe Health And Rehabilitation Centre, West Newton, after a brief illness.
Born in Salem, MA, he was the son of the late Sebastiano and the late Maria (Ciarcia) Reale. At the age of 1 he was brought to Italy to his family village of Canicattini Bagni in Siracusa, Sicily. He stayed there untill he was 15. He returned to the United States and settled in the North End.
In 1940 He married Lena Marino. He worked much of his life in Lynn, making shoes.
After he raised his family he moved to Revere in 1960 and came to Medford 10 years ago.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lena (Marino), one son Richard Reale and his wife Helen (Di Carlo) of Newton. He leaves two grandsons, Richard, Jr and Darin Todd. He was the brother of Connie Motta of Medford and the late Jennie Lombardo.Manuel was predeceased by his son Sebastiano Reale.
His funeral will be celebrated Friday at 9am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden.
Interment will follow Friday at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
Friends may visit Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
