Obituary

Ruth A. (DeMello) Correa, 68, of New Bedford died December 5, 2007 at home after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Lionel A. Correa.
Born in Dartmouth, the daughter of the late Manuel and Johanna (Costa) DeMello, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Correa was a member of the Christian Fellowship Center.
She was formerly employed as a custodian at New Bedford High School for 15 years until her retirement. She previously worked at Dritz Corp. for 10 years.
An avid dancer and bowler, she was a member of the Avadance Dance Club, the Metrodone Dance Club, and Team Family Ties at Wonderbowl. She enjoyed exercising and going on vacation.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Dori Maher, and her husband Brian and Lisa Moniz, all of New Bedford; her companion, Larry Vera of Ft. Myers, FL; a stepson, Alan Correa of Maryland; 2 brothers, Edward DeMello of Dartmouth and Ronald DeMello of Rochester; a sister, Marjorie Rezendes of Fairhaven; 7 grandchildren, Rachel Bento, Carlos Silveira, Jr., Kim Bento, Michael Maher, Roger Moniz, Jr., Lorrie Correa and David Correa; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Garzon; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Visiting hours Friday, December 7th from 6-9 PM.
