Obituary

WEBSTER – Richard E. Menoche, 89, of 37 Slater Street, passed away Tuesday, December 4, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. His wife of 56 years, Theresa D. (Gevry) Menoche, died in 1995.

He leaves a son, Richard K. Menoche and his wife Patricia of Little Compton, RI; a daughter, Judith (Menoche) Goodno and her husband Ralph of Conestoga, PA; his companion of over 10 years, Ruth Stevens of Webster; 4 grandchildren, Richard A. Menoche and his wife Kelly, Laurel Menoche and her husband John Fox, Karen Goodno and Sarah Goodno; 2 great grandchildren, Andrew and Kathryn Menoche; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Shayna Menoche and by his 2 brothers, Albert and Raymond Menoche.

He was born and raised in Grosvenordale, CT, a son of Harris and Ophelia (Chagnon) Menoche. He lived in Webster since his marriage in 1939. He built his own home on Slater Street from 1948 to 1950.

Mr. Menoche was a master weaver at Hayward-Schuster Mills in East Douglas for most of his career, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He enjoyed traveling and the outdoors. Most of all, he liked to spend time with his family.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at noon in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 10:30 to 11:30 AM Thursday, Dec. 6, in the funeral home.
