Cheryl G. Carrington Whitaker, 49, of Enigma died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Dr. Fred Evers will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Brown, Andy Hobbs, Gary Zinn, Rigo Tovar, Craig Watson and Andy Lupo. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 6, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Whitaker was born on August 4, 1958 in Tift County and was the daughter of Talmadge Carrington of Albany and Margie Bannister Kirkpatrick of Tifton. She was a salesperson at Ray's Package Store in Berrien County and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her husband, Scott Whitaker of Enigma; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Jennifer Easom of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Jessi Whitaker Haman and her husband, Boone, of Moultrie; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Danny and Elise Overstreet of Tifton, Brent Carrington of Gautier, Mississippi and Robert Sharpe of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Marla and Roger Hobbs of Tifton; and two grandchildren, Daniel Haman of Moultrie and Kase Haman of Moultrie.
