Mary S. Mitchell, 93, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, December 6, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Braziel officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 on Thursday morning before the service. Interment will be held 11 A.M. Friday, December 7, at Summerville City Cemetery, Summerville, GA.
Mrs. Mitchell was born August 20, 1914 in Summerville, Georgia, to the late H.F. and Amanda Morton Sims. She grew up on Ridgecrest Farm in Summerville before moving to Fitzgerald where she was a saleslady for Colony City Antiques. She was a Nurse, a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, the Bethany Sunday School Class, and the Director of the WMU. She was also a former resident of Decatur, GA.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by daughters-in-law: Gina Beth Mitchell and Mary Mitchell; son-in-law: Reggie Roberts, Sr.; grandchildren: Reggie (Paige) Roberts, Jr., Pierre (Marsha) Mitchell, Ann Mitchell, ABC "Chip" (Jan) Dorminy, III, Steve (Jean) Mitchell, Cathy Mitchell, Wayne (Joyce) Roberts and Buddy (Melissa) Mitchell, Jr. as well as several nieces and nephews including George (Jeanie) Sims. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Walker and Eldridge F. Mitchell; sister: Raye Hudlow; step-children: Myrtice M. Dorminy, Sammie Mitchell, Ruby Day Roberts, and Buddy Mitchell.
