New Bedford – Filomena (Braz) Rafael, aged 94 years, died Monday, December 3, 2007 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late of Jose Rafael. She was the mother of Maria Martins of New Bedford and Carlos Rafael of Dartmouth. She was the sister of Maria Isabel Salvador. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren also several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rafael was the daughter of the Constantino and Maria doCeu (Noia) Braz. She was born in Flores, Azores, Portugal and lived in this area since 1968. She was formerly employed as a trimmer at Aiello Brothers.
Mrs. Rafael’s Funeral is from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., on Wednesday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 P.M.
