Obituary

Mrs. Italia Barresi 89 of Medford died on Sunday in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. Beloved wife of the late Stefano Barresi.
Born in Lawrence, daughter of the late Vito and Veneranda (Pendice) Ferrante, she was raised and educated in Italy. She worked as a seamstress in the garment industry. Mrs. Barresi was a very religious woman and a member of the Medford Senior Citizens. She enjoyed cooking and playing Bingo. She leaves 2 daughters, Amelia Campo and her husband Michael of Tewksbury, Rita LaRossa and her husband Fred of Tewksbury, 2 sons, Robert J. Barresi and his wife Sherry of Stoneham, Aldo Barresi and his wife Rosa of Saugus. Grandmother of 8 grand, and 9 great-grandchildren. Sister of Gaspare Ferrante of FL. And the late Angelo Ferrante and Croce Puma.
Funeral from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 9 am. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Italia’s name may be sent to the Alzheimers Association, Massachusetts Chapter, Attention: Development Department, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
