Lena Garofano, 89, a lifelong resident of Mansfield died peacefully on Saturday December 1, 2007 at home.
Born in Mansfield, MA on March 2, 1918 she was a loving daughter of the late Angelo and Maria (Musto) Garofano.
She grew up in Mansfield, was educated in Mansfield public schools and was a 1936 graduate of Mansfield High School.
Miss Garofano was a retired Office Manager and had worked for over 40 years at the former Regis Paper Co. in Attleboro prior to retiring.
Lena was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield and was a former member of the churches Catholic Women’s Club. An avid sports fan she enjoyed playing golf and also gardening at her home in Mansfield.
She was the dear sister of Theresa Garofano of Mansfield and the late Angelina M. Garofano, Louise E. Garofano and Carmen J. “Carl” Garofano who passed away in July, also surviving are her many cousins.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday December 4th at 11:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s Parish 330 Pratt St. Mansfield, MA 02048.
