Mary C. (Teixeira) Silva, 84, a lifelong resident of Norton died on Saturday December 1, 2007 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late John Silva.
Born in Norton, MA on November 28, 1923 she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Guilhermina Teixeira.
She grew up in Norton and was educated in Norton schools. Mrs. Silva was a retired attendant at the Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton where she had worked for many years prior to retiring. She had formerly worked for both the former Fernandes Super Markets in Norton and at the former Talbot’s Woolen Mill also in Norton. Following retirement from the state school she was a loving caregiver to her mother to the time of her death.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton Mary also enjoyed sewing and knitting and had a special place in her heart for animals.
She is survived by her devoted son John J. Silva and his wife Claire of Norton, her dear granddaughter Paula M. Heagney and her husband Kyle of Norton and her cherished great grandson Connor Patrick Heagney.
Private graveside funeral services will be held at the convenience of her family at the Norton Center Cemetery in Norton.
