Betty J. DesMeules
...Retired Tewksbury Resident; 84
TEWKSBURY - Betty J. DesMeules, age 84, died at Saints Medical Center on Friday, November 30 after a courageous battle with Leukemia. She was the wife of the late William Robert Collins and later George DesMeules.
She was born May 25, 1923 and raised in Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Frederick and the late Gertrude (Grusdat) Wuthrich. In 1947, she moved to Waltham, MA. She worked as a waitress at the Chateau Restaurant in Waltham, then resided in Watertown before retiring to Tewksbury in 1986.
Betty was a WWII Veteran stationed in Kansas serving in the Army Air Force. She was a member of the Falmouth Air Park and Red Hat Association. She is best known for her love of shopping.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice Burke of Tewksbury, a son, William Robert Collins and his wife Pamela (Porter) of Billerica, and Mary (Bourbeau) Collins of Belmont. She also leaves a brother and sister-in-law Frederick and his wife Gladys Wuthrich of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, Christine Harrington and her husband John of Tewksbury, Robert Bishop and his wife Jennifer of FL , David Burke Jr.and his wife Ellen of Methuen, Jeffery Burke and his wife Marlene of Nashua, NH, William Collins III and his fiancé' Katelin of Billerica, Jason Collins and his wife Jennifer of Gardner, Scott Collins and his wife Lisa of Maine, and Kristen Collins and Bobby of Marlboro; Ten great grandchildren, Brendan, Austin, Molly, Robbie, Lauren, Zachary, Quinn, Devyn, Emily, and Haley.
She was also mother of the late Frederick W. Collins and mother-in-law of the late David R. Burke Sr.

Her Funeral Service was held on Wednesday Dec. 5 in the funeral home. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tewksbury. Donations made
