Obituary

We picture death as coming to destroy; let us rather picture Christ as coming to save. We think of death as sending; let us rather think of life as beginning, and that more abundantly. We think of losing; let us think of gaining. We think of going away; let us think of arriving. And as the voice of death whispers, "You must go from earth." Let us hear the voice of Christ saying "You are but coming to Me!"

APOSTLE LUNIA LESLIE, JR. was born January 5, 1948. He departed this life November 30, 2007 in Huntsville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lunia and Pearl Leslie, (brothers) James Leslie, Samuel, Moore and (sister) Susie Crutcher.

Throughout his young life, he always worked to provide for his younger siblings, making sacrifices so they could continue their education. He was a decorator for more than 40 years and took pride in his work.

Lunia's commitment to God began early in life and he demonstrated a quiet and powerful faith in God until his death. He was a loving, giving, humble and caring person. Whenever he preached you could feel the presence of the Lord and whenever he ministered to you, you always knew it came directly from the Lord.

He was a member of the Lincoln Lodge #99, Al Azhar Shrine Temple #195, J. E. Harris 33° Club, Tennessee Valley Consistory #160 and a member of the Royal Arch, Glittering Star #94 Order of Eastern Star.
