Mother Ella Mae Humphrey was born March 16, 1920, she departed this life on November 25, 2007. She was born to the late James Henry and Hattie Walker Graham. She was preceded in death by four brothers: James, J. D., Charlie and William Graham; one sister, Ruby Humphrey, and one grandson, Michael Whitman.
Mother Humphrey was joined in holy matrimony to the late Ollie Humphrey.
She accepted Christ as her savior at a young age and joined Zion Progress Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully on the Mothers’ Ministry until her health begin to fail.
We mourn her passing yet are comforted in the knowledge that her good deeds, generous acts, and Christian examples will live on. She never found it in her heart to say no, when asked to render a service, great or small.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Hattie Battle; one grandson, Eddie (Glenda); one granddaughter, Brenda (Larry); two great granddaughters: Toria and Nicole (William); three great grandsons: Chris (Angelina), Courtney and Zack; two great great grandsons: Jalen and Maaziyah; one great great granddaughter, Camryn; two sisters: Pearline Hawk and Lucille Baker, of Nashville, Tennessee; three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Graham of Nashville, Tennessee, Lois Graham and Gracie Lockhart; two brothers-in-law: John Humphrey and Charlie Lockhart and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
