Margaret (Bowler) Caulfield, 89, of Stoneham, formerly a long-time resident of Winchester, passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2007. She was the wife of the late James P. Caulfield. Born in Carthage, NY, Margaret was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Augusta (Rogers) Bowler. Margaret was raised and educated in Winchester, graduating from Winchester High School with the class of 1936. After high school, she was employed as an inspector with the J.H. Winn Watch Factory in Winchester for over 25 years. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting and cooking. She especially loved to make key lime pie and broccoli and cauliflower au gratin. She was the devoted mother of James P. Caulfield, Jr.and his wife Martha of St. Louis, MO and the late Constance Johnson and her husband David of Loudon, NH. She was also the dear sister of Mary Tofuri of Winchester and the late Edward F. Bowler, former Police Chief in Winchester, and the late Cornelius R. Bowler. Margaret also leaves behind 7 grandchildren , 10 great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St. Winchester on Saturday, December 8 at 12noon. A Memorial Visitation will be held in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
