Obituary

Lyons, Richard R. - of Lynnfield, January 8, beloved husband of Deidre (Cawrse). Devoted father of Brian Lyons of Stoneham. Brother of Gregory L. Lyons and his wife Elizabeth of Simsbury, Ct., and Rosemary Lyons Solomon and her husband William of Stoneham. Loving uncle of Stephen Conti, Timothy, Sean and Michael Lyons, great uncle of Liam. Friend of Daniel Mantini of Reading. Funeral from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Thursday, January 16, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 11. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with interment in Forest Hills Cemetery, Lynnfield. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy be sent in Richards memory to the American Heart Association 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701 or to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.

Obituary

Richard R. Lyons, 56, of Lynnfield passed away on January 8, 2003, as a result of a commuter plane crash in Charlotte, NC. He was on a business trip for his Cambridge-based employer, W. R. Grace & Co.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Deidre (Cawrse) Lyons (formerly of Winchester) and his loving son, Brian Robert Lyons of Stoneham. He is also survived by his brother Gregory L. Lyons and his wife Elizabeth of Simsbury, CT and his sister Rosemary Lyons Solomon and her husband William of Stoneham. He leaves his wife’s uncle and good friend, Daniel Mantini of Reading. He is also survived by four nephews, Timothy, Sean and Michael Lyons, Stephen Conti and one great nephew, Liam.

Richard was a 34-year employee of Grace Performance Chemicals, a division of W. R. Grace & Co., and traveled worldwide as Global Health and Safety Manager. He was dedicated to his work and committed to keeping all employees safe.

Richard was raised in Woburn, MA, graduated from Keith Academy in Lowell and attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Northeastern University.

Richard’s true passion was spending time with his son and his family. He loved to cook and entertain and his home in Lynnfield was always the gathering spot for family and friends. He also enjoyed diving with his scuba buddies in the Caribbean, relaxing on the beach in Rye, NH and sharing his contagious laugh with all.

His funeral will be held from the Mclaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Thursday, January 16, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 11. Visiting Hours are Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Forest hills Cemetery, Lynnfield.
