Winnisquam-Shirley D. Charter, 75, of 10 Courtesy Ave. died peacefully on Monday evening, November 26, 2007 at Mountain Ridge Center in Franklin surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on July 30, 1932, the daughter of the late Robert and Elisabeth (Bennink) Day where she was raised and schooled, moving to Swampscott, Massachusetts after her marriage. She had been a resident of Winnisquam for the past eleven years.
Prior to her retirement, Shirley was employed by West Lynn GE Credit Union. She loved the ocean, and especially enjoyed a lobster dinner. She also enjoyed to read, and the companionship of her cat.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 54 years, Walter A. Charter of Winnisquam; her two sons, William W. Charter and his wife Donna of Anchorage, Alaska, and Robert A. Charter and his fiancée Mary of Sanbornton; her daughter Sheila E. Jacobs and her husband Scott of Gilford. Seven grandchildren and her cat Sassy also survive Shirley.
A Celebration of Shirley’s Life was held at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia on Saturday, December 1, 2007 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Family and friends were invited to attend.
