SALEM - Armand F. Richiuts, age 97, of Salem, husband of the late Louise E. (Church) Richiuts, died Saturday evening, November 24, 2007 at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center, Swampscott, following a short illness.
Born in Homer City, PA, he was the son of the late Ferdinand & Romilda (Varrato) Richiuts. He moved to Massachusetts in 1920 and has been a resident of Salem since 1937.
Mr Richiuts and his late wife, Louise, owned and operated Armand’s Variety at 69 Essex St., Salem, from 1950 until their retirement in 1982.
He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mr. Richiuts is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce Carson and Sandra & James Iwanicki, of Salem, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Richiuts of Kissimi, FL, 9 grandchildren, Richard Richiuts of Kissimi, FL, Jeffrey Richiuts of Salem, NH, Suzanne Lambert of Shapleigh, ME, Laurieanne Emery and Linda Iwanicki of Salem, Cherylanne Huot and Michael Carson of Sanford, ME, Nancy Alexander of Colorado Springs, CO, David Iwanicki of Nevada, CA,11 great grandchildren, one brother, Thomas Acciviatti of Beverly, seven sisters, Lorraine & her husband Bob Mead, Theresa Gorini, Anne Bucci, Matilda Hyde, Amelia & her husband Bob Pendleton, Valia Morin, Dessie Ward, all of Beverly, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Newcomb of Salem and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Ronald A. Richiuts.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Committal service will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
