Mr. Edmund F. Houilhan, 77, son of the late Martin Houlihan and Anna (Flaherty) Houlihan, died at home on Saturday, November 17, 2007. Ed was a lifelong resident of Lawrence. He attended St. Mary's Grammar School and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1950. Ed also served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed by Malden Mills for 32 years until his retirement.
Edmund, known by many as "Uncle Ed" was very proud of his Irish heritage. Both parents were born in Ireland and Ed made several visits to the Emerald Isle. His smiling Irish eyes were always a welcome sight to all who knew and loved him. Uncle Ed always looked at the bright side of every situation and always had a good word to say about everyone. His great sense of humor and generous spirit will be missed greatly by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
