Sidney C. Rosen, 83, a resident of Westborough, formerly of Revere & Winthrop, entered into rest suddenly on November 23, 2007 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Shulman) Rosen who entered into rest in 1986.
Born in Chelsea in 1924, Sidney was the son of the late Jacob & Rose (Hillman) Rosen. He was raised & educated in Revere, graduating from Revere High School. Sidney served with the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired supervisor for the United States Postal Service, & a member of B'Nai Brith. Sid's great loves were his wife, Rita, his kids & grandkids, music, art, baseball, coaching baseball, discussing events, ideas, & eliciting other people’s life stories.
He is survived by his children, Barry Rosen & his wife Carol, Linda Rosen & her husband Edward Mari, Jr., Alan Rosen & his wife Annette Bongiorno, & the late Jerold Rosen & his wife Susan. Sidney was the loving grandfather of Jeff, Mark, Lindsay, Calvin, & Casey.
Funeral services will be held in the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq) CHELSEA on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Tifereth Israel of Revere Cemetery, 232 Fuller St. Everett. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Torf Funeral Chapel of Chelsea.
