Henry F. Shappe, a resident of Salem and former longtime resident of Charlestown, died on Wednesday November 21, 2007 at Salem Hospital in Salem Following a lengthy illness. He was 77 years old.
Henry was born in New York City, New York on April 6, 1930. He worked for many years as a shipper at Deran Confectionery Company and also at Johnny's Foodmaster.
Henry is the beloved husband of 56 years to Dorothy E. (Barrett) Shappe. He is the devoted father of Dorothy Corndell of South Easton and Patricia Cleveland of Salem. He is the loving grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is the beloved brother of Lillian Johnston of Everett, Anna Rainone of Wilmington and the late Edith Small, Catherine Murray, Jeanette Griffin, Mary Cahill, Helen Shappe and William Shappe.
Henry's Funeral will be held on Monday November 26, 2007 at 8 a.m. from the Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Henry will be on Sunday November 25, 2007 from 2 to 6 p.m. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
