Manchester– Irene (Dufour) Gauthier, 86, died November 22, 2007 at her home following an extended illness.
She was born in Manchester on February 7, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Laura (Pomerleau)Dufour, and had been a lifelong resident of the city.
Prior to her retirement she was employed part time at J.F. McElwain, and Prevue Products.
She enjoyed socializing, bingo, crocheting, puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, George Gauthier who died on June 8, 1989.
Family members include 3 daughters, Mrs. John (Muriel) Britton, of Manchester, Mrs. Donald (Connie) Gravel, of Dunbarton, Mrs. Mark (Doris) Lefebvre, of Chester, 11 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services: Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm in J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge St.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am in St. Pius X Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
