Obituary

MARY M. (SMITH) MORAN, a Hingham resident for almost 60 years, died at her home on Friday, Nov. 23rd after a long illness. She was 87. Mrs. Moran was born in Lowell and spent her early life in Everett. She graduated from Everett High School, Fisher Junior College and attended Boston University and Harvard University. During World War II, Mrs. Moran served with the United States Marine Corps and was a past president of the Womens' Marine Association. After the war, she was a legal secretary for Attorney William J. Flynn of Hingham and assisted her husband, the late Clyde C. Moran, as a broker in his Hingham real estate firm. For over 20 years she was a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA and was also an active member of the First Baptist Church in Hingham. She is survived by her twin sons; Douglas C. and Donald J. Moran both of Hingham and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 27th at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, 85 Main St., Hingham.
Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Monday evening from 4-8 PM.
Rather than flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
The interment will be in the High Street Cemetery, Hingham.
