Joaquin Costa, age 93 formerly of 11 King St passed away November 23, 2007. Widower of Elsie (Medeiros) Costa. Son of the late Jacintho & Maria (Soares) Costa. He was a lifelong resident of Fall River, a retired worker at the MA Dept. of Public Works Traffic Division, a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, the American Legion & the DAV. He was a WWII U.S.Army veteran with the rank of Technical Sgt. & a P.O.W. in Germany from 1944-1945; he received the Bronze Star, the good conduct medal, the European Afr MET Camp Ribbon, Victory Medal & American Theater Campaign Ribbon.
He is survived by several nieces & nephews including Richard R. Costa of Fall River. Brother of the late Irene Robbins, Celia Jennings, Mary & Manuel “Coco” Costa.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Monday at 9 A.M. with a funeral mass in Good Shepherd Church at 10 A.M. Entombment in Notre Dame Mausoleum. There are no Sunday calling hours.
