
Joseph E. Papson, a resident of the Mountain Rest Nursing Home, died Tuesday at the home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Dickson City, son of the late Elmer and Verna Sedlak Papson, he was a graduate of Dickson City High School and Lackawanna College. Joseph was a member of the armed forces, having attained the rank of sergeant. He was employed as a pattern maker for Hammernet Manufacturing, Olyphant, and was also employed in the microfilm department for CETA. He was a member of Holy Ghost Church, Olyphant.
Throughout Joseph's life, he dealt with many health challenges and always by his side was his sister, Maria. Their close relationship will always remain a cherished memory.
Surviving are a sister, Maria Papson, Dickson City, and her fiancé, Henry Graziano; aunts and cousins.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home, 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, to be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Muldowney, pastor. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Township.
