Berness C. (York) Hefler, 100, of Foxboro died on Thursday November 22, 2007 at the Epoch Senior Health Care Center in Norton, MA, she was the beloved wife of the late Donald M. Hefler.
Born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada on August 14, 1907 she was a loving daughter of the late William and Catherine (Power) York.
She moved to Mansfield as a child, was educated in Mansfield Public schools and was a graduate of Mansfield High School.
Mrs. Hefler had worked as a Clerical Clerk for the Kendall Co. in Walpole for 35 years prior to her retirement in 1970.
She had attended the Orthodox Congregational Church in Mansfield. As a younger lady Berness enjoyed ballroom dancing. She had made her home in Foxboro for the past 30 years and was formerly a resident of Mansfield for 60 years.
She was the sister of the late Arthur G. York. Berness is survived by 4 nieces.
Graveside funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday November 27th at 11:00 A.M. in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield. Burial will follow.
