Elon Daniels, Jr., 78, of Moultrie, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 20 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, November 24 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Edsel Young officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Daniels was born January 4, 1929, in Louisa, Kentucky to the late Elon and Della Bentley Daniels. He lived in Moultrie for two years from Winchester, Kentucky and was a former resident of Elwood, Indiana. Mr. Daniels retired from Delco Remy, was a Master Tool & Die Engineer and he was a private aircraft pilot. He was a Mason and he was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Daniels is survived by his wife, Lynda Fountain of Moultrie; daughters, Linda Daniels and Sandra “Sam” Tranton both of Elwood, IN; son, Dwayne Elon (Michele) Daniels of Elwood, IN; step daughters, Charlotte (Terry) Barnard of Thomasville, Beth (Greg) Lankford of Ocilla and Katherleen (Wayne) Purvis of Alapaha; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Bilotta of Cable, OH, Betty Bartley of Lexington, KY, Marie Anderson of Springfield, OH, Draxie Dillon and and JoAnn Gibson of Prestonsburg, KY; brothers, George Daniels of Clearwater, FL and Larry Daniels of East Point, KY, as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wade Daniels.
