Sarah Ann Spires, 75, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, November 24, at Evergreen Cemetery, with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge Officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 Saturday, afternoon at the funeral home.
Mrs. Spires was born February 22, 1932, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late George P. and Nora Mashburn Morris. She lived in the community most of her life and was a former resident of Greenville, Alabama. Mrs. Spires was a homemaker, a member of Arbor Baptist Church and an avid gardener.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Melton of Ocala, FL and Ludell (Eddie) Bishop of Acworth, GA; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister, Luwill McDaniel of Fitzgerald, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy M. Spires and a son who was killed in Vietnam, Corporal William P. “Billy” Arthur.
