Robert E. “Buddy” Ferguson, 73, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held later.
Mr. Ferguson was born October 26, 1934 in Pheba, Mississippi, to the late Elmer E. and Lavonia Gamel Ferguson. He was a 1952 graduate of Pheba High School. Mr. Ferguson worked as a police officer for twenty years in Starkville, MS and moved to Fitzgerald in 1976, where he escorted for Lippert Components. He attended Westside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Ferguson of Fitzgerald; daughter, Jan Wells of Mathiston, MS; son, Mike Ferguson of Westpoint, MS; stepdaughters, Charity Smith and Brenda Dennison of Fitzgerald; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother, Eugene Ferguson of Chuckney, TN; sister, Louise Lemons of Columbus, MS as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Ferguson and two grandsons, Dylan Sirmans and Jason Ferguson.
