Obituary

Acushnet – Alfred R.M. Braley, Jr., 66, of Acushnet died after a long battle with Corticobasal Ganglionic Degeneration on November 18, 2007 at home surrounded by his family and friends. He was the husband of Diane J. (Sargent) Braley and former husband of Simone (DeBlois) Braley.

Mr. Braley was born in New Bedford, son of the late Alfred R.M. and M. Cecile G. (Fournier) Braley, and was a lifelong resident of Acushnet. He served in the U.S Marine Corps. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Center, New Bedford. He worked as a self-employed general contractor and was the proprietor of the former Live Bait & Tackle Shop in Acushnet. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and was a lifelong friend of Bill W.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by a daughter: Christine M. Carvalho and her husband Mark of Fairhaven; a son: Douglas A. Braley of New Bedford; a stepdaughter: Cherie L. View and her husband David of Acushnet; a stepson: Adam A. Senna of Acushnet; a brother: Leo C. Braley of Acushnet; 2 sisters: Jean A Nickerson of Orleans, MA and Nancy C. Braley of Beverly, MA; 4 grandchildren: Nicholas Carvalho, Courtney Senna, Madison Senna and Erik Senna; and nieces & nephews.

Visiting hours on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Kirby Funeral Home.

Funeral services on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at the Christian Fellowship Center, 818 Church Street, New Bedford, MA.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations may be made to Community Nurse & Hospice Care, 62 Center St., Fairhaven, MA 02719.

Interment in Acushnet Cemetery, Acushnet.
