Obituary

Frederick A. Bauman Jr., 84 of Ipswich died November 17 in his son’s home in Medway. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Bailey) Bauman who died in March 2006.
Born in Fitchburg, June 18, 1923 the son of the late Frederick A. and Dorothy A. (Farnham) Bauman, Mr. Bauman was a lifetime Massachusetts resident.
He was a graduate of Fitchburg High School and Northeastern University.
Mr. Bauman was a long time chemist for the General Electric Company in Lynn.
His interests were bird watching, stamp collecting, volunteer work and a lifelong commitment to Boy Scouting.
Mr. Bauman served in the Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his sons, Charles of Leominster, John of Nashua, NH and Peter and his wife, Nancy of Medway.
He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy “Dee” Gallagher of Lexington and a brother, George “Tim” Bauman of Ashby, MA.
He was the brother of the late Rear Admiral USCG Richard Bauman who died last year.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Adrianne, Jennifer, Benjamin and Samuel.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway from 4-8 p.m.
Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
