Obituary

Mr. Jessie Clemons Sr. was born on March 11, 1918 to the late Berry L. Clemons Sr. and the late Rebecca Fletcher. Mr. Clemons quietly departed this life on November 16, 2007.

Mr. Clemons was a World War II Veteran. He entered into U. S. Army on February 24, 1944. He separated on January 19, 1946. Mr. Clemons was by occupation a Truck Driver and a Truck Mechanic. Following his military separation, he was employed by NASA, from which he retired after thirty (30) years of service.

He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined New Haven Church. He later united with the St. Bartley Primitive Baptist Church under the pastorship of Elder Amos Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary F. Clemons and by two daughters, Mammie L. Holman and Mary Clemons.

He leaves to cherish his memory three loving sons: Jessie Clemons Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, Willie Clemons of Huntsville, Alabama and Willie Jones of Athens, Alabama; three devoted grandchildren: Marion Brown Holman (Willieard), Elijah Holman (Janice) and Brenton C. Clemons; five sisters: Mrs. Bertha M. Crutcher, Mrs. Jessie L. Hazleitt (John), Mrs. Emma C. Ellison (Bennie L.), Reverend Elaine C. Allison and Mrs. Louise C. Burruss (Ted R.), all of Huntsville, Alabama; three brothers: Mr. James E. Clemons, Mr. Berry L. Clemons Jr. (Shirley), both of Huntsville, Alabama and Mr. Eddie Clemons of Madison, Alabama; twenty-two grandchildren and forty-three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Jessie Clemons Sr. will be held Wednesday 12:00 Noon at the St. Bartley Primitive Baptist Church, Elder William Garrett Officiating. Interment will be held in the Valhalla Memory Gardens. The remains of Mr. Clemons will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time.
